Today is #13 of my 13 healthy living tips for 2013.
As you move along your healthy living journey in 2013 and beyond, one condition is essential—to maintain balance. There will always be times when you swing too low or too high on that see saw of life, but you can always find a way to strike equilibrium again. You simply have to keep working at it!
When you have a lot of priorities on your plate, it’s hard to stay sane, much less stay in shape, eat right and do the things in life you love to do. With work, family and social obligations, there’s often little time leftover to take care of you. Taking better care of yourself, however, should be your number one priority. By prioritizing your own health, you’ll be better able to care for others.
To keep things in balance, unplug, turn off and tune out. Learn how to set boundaries. Don’t be afraid to say no. Look for the right fit, but don’t force-fit.
Remember that work is work, not life or death. What may seem like a grave urgency today may only be a blip on the radar screen tomorrow.
Keep things in perspective, because life is too short to take it too seriously.
Challenge #13: Go through your week’s schedule. What obligations can you delegate to others? What activities can you omit or delay? Where in your schedule can you fit in time for you?
If you need to re-prioritize and reorganize, do so now.
