Using this site
You are welcome to browse, read, share links, and reach out. You agree not to misuse the site: no attempting to break in, scrape at scale, submit spam through the forms, or use the site in any way that violates the law.
The writing is mine
Everything on this site (the words, the photos, the books' excerpts, the design) is owned by Melinda Hinson or used with permission, and is protected by copyright. Quote a line or two with credit and a link any time. Republishing whole pages, chapters, or essays requires my written permission first. Ask through the contact page; I say yes more often than not.
Coaching is guidance, not a guarantee
The coaching, workshops, and everything written here reflect my experience and honest judgment. They are not legal, financial, medical, or psychological advice, and they come with no promise of a particular outcome: no guarantee your book will be published, sell a certain number of copies, or hit a list. Writing a book is real work and your results depend on many things, most of all you. What I promise is a straight answer and my full attention.
Specific coaching engagements, workshops, and retreats may have their own written agreements covering scope, fees, scheduling, and refunds. Where those exist, they control for that engagement.
Buying the books
Books are sold through retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Bookshop.org. Your purchase happens on their sites under their terms, and questions about orders, shipping, or returns go to the retailer.
What you send me
When you submit a form, you confirm the information is yours to share and accurate. If you send feedback or a kind word, I may ask your permission before quoting it publicly; nothing you send becomes a public testimonial without your OK. How I handle your personal information is covered in the privacy policy.
Links to other places
This site links out to services I use and like (Substack, retailers, event pages). I don't control those sites and am not responsible for their content or practices.
The site as it is
I work to keep this site accurate, secure, and available, and it is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
If these terms change, this page will change with them and the date at the top will say when.
